How can one reconcile Indigenous traditions with a Christian faith? Elissa Nenakowekapo shares her journey of preserving cultural heritage while embracing her spiritual beliefs. She discusses the importance of understanding and respecting traditional practices, fostering reconciliation within and between communities, and creating safe spaces for diverse expressions of faith. Highlighting her unique spiritual experience, Elissa expresses how a personal, unrestricted relationship with God transcends the confines of conventional worship. Together with host Melvina, they explore themes of cultural integration, community involvement, and the transformative power of prayer and therapy in fostering mutual respect and overcoming historical stigmas. Elissa also touches upon her impactful land-based youth program, emphasizing the significance of nature and Indigenous identity in promoting healing and pride among Indigenous youth.
